A handy little point-and-shoot with a slightly larger grip and heavier weight than most point and shoots, which may be ergonomically convenient for some hands; this camera won't slip away from you. Uniquely shaped left hand side (your left as you hold the camera) sets your fingers up to reach the zoom settings. Introduced in 1989.

"Fully automatic zoom compact camera using an SPC (silicon photocell) for a triangulation AF system. The near-infrared beam for autofocusing is also used for AF assist in low light. Prefocusing is possible.
The 39-85mm f/3.6-7.3 lens has 9 elements in 8 groups and power zooming. The optical quality is comparable to Canon FD interchangeable lenses. A convenient, fixed-magnification mode is provided."
